The Founding Knights NJ · 12.12.90

On December 12, 1990, eighteen men from diverse backgrounds reached the final stage of what would become Psi Sigma Phi Multicultural Fraternity.

Before 1990, male college students in New Jersey were limited by the available choices — African-American, Asian-American, Latin-American, and "traditional" fraternities were the predominant paths. Our Founders felt the need for an organization that not only offered a bond of unity and lasting friendship, but a fraternity that would emphasize the importance of multiculturalism in the lives of today's college students.

Co-founded at Montclair State University and what is now New Jersey City University, Psi Sigma Phi has since maintained its own identity among Greek-lettered organizations — an eternal bond of unity defended by men committed to multicultural awareness.
