Psi Sigma Phi SQUIRE Program: Path to Membership

The SQUIRE Program is how Psi Sigma Phi prepares men for the lifelong commitment of brotherhood. It is not pledging. It is not a prerequisite. It is an opportunity to develop, to connect, and to decide honestly whether this path is yours.

What is the SQUIRE Program

Prepare, connect,
decide.

Prior to becoming new members of Psi Sigma Phi, qualified interests are informally admitted into the SQUIRE Program. As a Squire, you foster relationships with brothers and other Squires, increase your cultural awareness, and learn to organize and execute community service, programs, and events.

The program is beneficial to all individuals interested in the organization. It is strongly recommended that the program be completed prior to intake, as it helps you prepare for the process, develop leadership skills, increase academic awareness, and better understand what membership truly entails.

This is not pledging. The SQUIRE Program is not a prerequisite and is not a form of pre-pledging. Participation does not guarantee membership. It is a voluntary developmental program designed to give interested men the best possible foundation before the formal intake process begins.
What a Squire does

Seven tasks.
One foundation.

While a member of the SQUIRE Program, each individual is required to complete the following. These aren’t checkboxes. They are the building blocks of knighthood.

3 Community Service event
Active participation in at least three community service events. Service is a cornerstone of the brotherhood and begins here.
3 Interest meetings
Attend three formal interest meetings, including mock interest meetings. This is where you begin to understand what PSP truly stands for.
3 Brotherhood events
Mixers, brother outings, and social events. The relationships built during the SQUIRE Program often last a lifetime.
Fundraising program
A minimum of one fundraising initiative. Squires learn to mobilize their networks and give back to the community before they are knights.
Parliamentary workshop
Mandatory attendance at one Parliamentary workshop. Understanding how the organization governs itself is foundational to participating in it.
Multicultural 20 questionnaire
Each Squire completes 20 questions, one about each fellow Squire in their group. A direct exercise in the multicultural awareness at the heart of PSP.
Code of Chivalry workshop
The Code of Chivalry is the moral framework of PSP brotherhood. This workshop ensures every Squire understands the standard they are committing to uphold.
Financial accessibility
Payment plans available for all Squires.

A structured payment plan is included for every prospective interest. The SQUIRE Program is designed to be accessible regardless of your current financial situation. No one should be excluded from the journey to knighthood because of money.

After induction

The SQUIRE is
just the beginning.

After successful completion of the intake process, brothers continue to enrich themselves through ongoing development. The work of becoming a Phiman doesn’t stop at induction.

Professional & academic workshops

Ongoing workshops emphasizing professionalism, academic prowess, and career development. Brotherhood is the foundation. Excellence is the expectation.

Leadership roles

Active brothers are expected to take on leadership roles within their chapter, in the broader ERTK structure, and in their campus and community.

Chapter course-of-action plans

Brothers develop actionable plans for their chapter to reach academic and professional standards, creating real accountability at the chapter level.

Phimen Summit

The yearly Leadership Conference brings together Phimen from all chapters for the national Phimen Summit, a focused gathering on strategy, brotherhood, and the direction of the organization.
